The new series of Supergirl has been creating a lot of fuss lately, considering that there are a lot of hardcore fans when it comes to Superman universe – and everything related to it. Although Supergirl may not have a fanbase as big as Superman, she is still considered important in DC’s Universe. And for this new upcoming Supergirl TV shows, there are a lot of things going on.
First of all, Jenna Dewan Tatum has agreed to sign contract playing as Lucy Lane. Her husband, Channing Tatum, has been confirmed to agree playing as Gambit in Century Fox big screen production, and Jenna has agreed to play as Lucy.
Lucy Lane may not as popular as her older sister, Lois, but she is still likable and becomes everyone’s favorite. Her characteristics are smart, beautiful, funny, successful, and strong, and rumor has it that he has a certain thing with Jimmy Olsen. In the TV shows, Olsen will be played by Mechad Brooks. According to the plan, Lucy will be on the first three episodes of the TV show.
The character Lucy Lane was first shown in Silver Age, where she was described working as air traffic coordinator and flight attendant. If you follow the story from the comic books, in 52 pre-new storylines, Lucy will get similar power as Kryptonian when she wears mysteries suit. It is unclear whether Lucy will be as powerful as that in the TV show plot. So far, the character of Lucy has been shown in Smallville, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Superman: The Animated Series.
Aside from the fact that Lucy will appear on the show, some new characters will be introduced to the show. It has been confirmed that Chris Browning (from the Sons of Anarchy) will be playing as one of the villains, Reactron. This CBS series will introduce this character on the third episode, aired around November the 9th – if according to plan.
Reactron first appeared in Supergirl comic book number 8, which was published around 1983. He was actually a man named Ben Krullen, created by Carmine Infantino and Paul Kupperberg. Ben Krullen was an American soldier going to Vietnam War. He was killed when he destroyed a small village and killed its inhabitants. However, Krullen didn’t die and he turned into a nuclear energy being, calling himself Reactron. He then started a revenge spree toward superheroes, including Supergirl.
If you follow Superman’s story, Supergirl is about Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El, who also escaped Krypton before its destruction. She knows her secret abilities, but finally decides that she wants to do something about it and makes a change – just like what her cousin does. Supergirl will premiere around October the 26th 2015 in CBS. The show is written by Greg Berlanti (who happens to be responsible for writing The Flash and Arrow) and Ali Adler. Besides writing the stories, both of them are also responsible for being executive producers – along with Warner Bros TV and Sarah Schechter.
